About Willamette Records

Oregon roots. Global ambition. A label built around memorable music and fair creative partnership.

Our story

Rooted here.
Global sound.

Willamette Records is an independent record label based in th heart of the Willamette Valley- West Linn, Oregon near Willamette Falls. We develop music and visual worlds across genres while holding every release to the same standard: strong songs fans will love, thoughtful presentation and respect for the artist.

We believe independence should create room for better decisions— more deliberate release timing, clearer artist identities, fair compensation, and the courage to support the song with the greatest potential.

Creative freedom and fair partnership make room for artists to create ridiculously catchy, quality songs people want to hear again and again.

How we work

Three Principles

01

Fair partnership

Clear expectations, respect for rights and meaningful compensation build stronger long-term creative relationships.

02

Creative freedom

Human and virtual artists need a distinctive identity and space to pursue it without being flattened into a formula.

03

Deliberate release strategy

The strongest song, the right timing and a real promotional plan should guide a release— not habit or hierarchy.

Built from observation

Lessons that shaped our approach

Give every release room.

Calendars should avoid unnecessary competition and give each artist a fair opportunity to be heard.

Remember when Virgin Records released Victoria Beckham's single, "Not Such an Innocent Girl" the same day as Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head"? That poor release strategy didn't give Victoria's single the chance it deserved to succeed. And who can forget the debacle with Mariah Carey's "Glitter" album?

Choose the clearest single.

Selection should follow the strongest song and audience opportunity, with honest creative judgment.

Promotion is part of the work.

Chart-worthy material deserves a coherent visual identity, focused storytelling and sustained support.

Human direction. Modern tools.

Creativity can take more than one form.

Our creative process may include human performance, writing, direction, editing and generative technology. Tools can expand possibility; taste, authorship, rights stewardship and responsibility remain central.
